I have considered narrating this for a very long time because I was embarrassed to tell you about my past. Okay, back to 2016 (if I’m not mistaken) when I was in junior high school.
As we all know, the majority of Indonesians embrace Muslims. The Christians in my class at that time could be counted on the fingers, around 4 people. But we totally tolerated them no matter what.
And, guess what?
Even on my first day of school, a bunch of people kept mocking me just because my belief is different from them. And not only that, they also threw me pencil cases which were full of heavy objects. I could not even do anything at that moment. I only sat and tears were streaming down my face. I had literally no idea why they did it to me. But I never told my parents about this because if I did, things would be worse.
The saddest part was, I am the only one who was being bullied and yes, I will never forget that. I am not traumatized, but that’s not funny at all. The only thing we can do as a human is respect each other’s religions, because there are laws on freedom to embrace each other’s beliefs.
